Job summary

Taskmaster Resources Limited seeks a Class 1 Driver to join our client in Cambridge (CB23). The role starts immediately with early starts around 6–7am and finishes about 5–6pm. Pay rate is £15.52 per hour. Duties include daily vehicle checks, loading/unloading checks, and delivering goods with strict adherence to tachograph rules and safety procedures.

You will maintain vehicle cleanliness, provide excellent customer service, and work well in a team. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• HGV1/C+E licence (Class 1) required.
• Driver Qualification Card (CPC) required.
• Digital tachograph knowledge essential.
• Good understanding of drivers hours regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily walk-around checks and raise defects where appropriate.
• Inspect load safety and ensure items are loaded correctly to prevent damage.
• Drive safely in compliance with the law and company policies.
• Obtain signatures on deliveries and verify goods at sites.

Taskmaster are currently looking to recruit a Class 1Driver to join our client is based in Cambridge (CB23) to start immediately.

Hours: Start: 6/7am and finish: 5/6pm approx.

Pay rate: £15.52ph

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Carry out daily walk-around checks of the vehicle, raising defects where appropriate.
• All goods are fully palletised.
• Inspect load safety before leaving the depot and request for items to be reloaded if necessary to avoid unnecessary damage and so as to ensure safety.
• Drive the vehicle safely in accordance with the law and company policies at all times and be respectful of other road users.
• Check goods off with delivery sites and obtain signature and print.
• Understand tachographs and drivers hours regulations and comply with them at all times.
• Report any accidents as soon as possible in line with the company accident procedure.
• Attend essential training when required.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the cab.
• Generally short delivery distances, tramping is all available for those that would like to.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A HGV1 /C+E/ class 1 licence.
• A valid Driver Qualification card (Driver CPC card).
• A digital tachograph (Essential).
• A good understanding of drivers hours and working time.
• A good knowledge of UK roads.
• The successful candidate will need to be flexible and be able to work well within a team.
