Job summary

KPI Recruiting are seeking a Class 1 Driver for our client based in Tilbury Docks. The role involves 5 out of 7 days per week with start times around 05:00–07:00 and a guaranteed 8 hours per day, at £18.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include load securement, adherence to Tachograph and WTD rules, and maintaining professional conduct at customer premises. Candidates should hold a valid CPC, DigiCard and HIAB licence, with no IN, DD, DR endorsements, and wear hi-vis and safety boots.

Qualifications

• Up-to-date driving licence
• CPC and DigiCard with HIAB licence

Responsibilities

• Adhere to EU Tachograph and Working Time Directive rules
• Maintain good relationships with managers, staff and customers
• Act as ambassador while away from the Operating Centre and at customer premises
• Secure loads at all times
• Keep vehicle clean inside and out
• Report vehicle/trailer damage or faults to Transport Office
• Ensure delivery paperwork is correct and returned
• Deliver goods to correct address and match paperwork
• Ensure temperature-controlled shipments are kept at correct temperatures
• Assist with loading/unloading when required

KPI Recruiting are on the look out for a Class 1 Driver for our client based in Tilbury Docks.

As a Class 1 Driver your working hours and days are:

• 5 out of 7 days per week
• 05:00/07:00- varied finish time (guaranteed 8 hours a day)

The rate of pay as a Class 1 Driver is:

• £18.00 p/h

The duties and responsibilities as a Class 1 Driver are:

• Ensure all EU Tachograph and Working Time Directive Rules and Regulations are adhered to
• Maintain a good working relationship with managers, staff and customers
• Act as an ambassador for the Company while working away from the Operating Centre and at customer premises
• Ensure loads are secured at all times
• Keep the cleanliness of the vehicle inside and out to a high standard at all times
• Report any damage or faults with the vehicle and trailers immediately to the Transport Office
• Report any damage, rejections or discrepancies of customer goods to the Transport Office
• To ensure that all paperwork is signed correctly at the delivery point and returned to the Transport Office
• Ensure that the correct goods are delivered to the correct delivery address and that the goods being delivered match with the relevant paperwork
• Ensure that all temperature sensitive goods are transported and delivered at the correct temperature
• Drivers are requested to offer all reasonable assistance with the loading/unloading of their vehicle where required at the customer premises

The ideal candidate for a Class 1 Driver would require:

• All up to date driving licence, CPC and Digi along with HIAB licence
• No IN, DD, DR endorsements on licence
• Hi vis and safety boots
