Job summary

Gi Group is hiring for a Class 1 Driver based at Marston Gate, MK43 0UL. This ongoing temporary role offers year-round stability with shifts mainly between 13:00 and 02:00, Monday to Friday, plus weekends as required.

You will handle trunking duties, ensure compliant tachograph records, and demonstrate professional customer service at store visits. Compensation ranges from £22.41 to £28.01 per hour, with weekly bookings and onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement and CPC/DIGI cards.
• Minimum 6 months Class 1 licence and 6 months driving experience.
• Willingness to work weekends; 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Parcel & mail bulk loads.
• Trunking work with minimal manual handling.
• Conduct vehicle checks and maintain digital tachograph records.
• Adhere to client standards; training provided.
• Manage Working Time Directive and driving hours to meet compliance.
• Act as a professional brand ambassador when visiting stores.

Class 1 Driver Opportunity

Join Gi Group supporting our client based in Marston Gate, as a Class 1 Trunk Driver. This isn't just seasonal help; we are looking for professional drivers for a long-term partnership.

Role & Responsibilities

• Parcel & Mail Bulk Loads
• Trunking Work, minimum manual handling
• Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records.
• Drivers must drive as per clients professional standards which you will be coached and trained on
• Ability to manage your Working Time Directive, and Driving Hours rules and Regulations in order to meet compliance expectations, and avoid infringement
• Acting as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores

Shifts

• Monday to Friday
• Varius start times available between 13:00 - 02:00

Pay Rates - Please note the below includes your advanced holiday pay

• Monday to Friday Day Shift : £22.41ph
• Monday to Friday Night Shift : £23.53ph
• Weekend / BH : £24.65ph - £28.01ph

Class 1 Driver Requirements

• Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards)
• Minimum 6 months Class 1 licence + 6 months Class 1 driving experience
• Previous experience in store deliveries would be preferred, but is not essential
• Max 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR or DD offences)
• Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation
• Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as an attention to detail
