Job summary

Pure Staff Driving in Gloucester is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Day Driver to join a long-standing client within the palletised distribution sector. The role offers ongoing work, excellent pay, and potential for a long-term position within a well-established transport operation.

The driver will deliver and collect palletised freight, maintain high customer service standards, and work on regular Monday to Friday shifts.

Qualifications

• Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good knowledge of Driver Hours regulations.
• Previous Class 1 driving experience desirable.
• Professional and reliable attitude.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting palletised goods to commercial customers.
• Completing 3-8 deliveries and collections per shift.
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time.
• Securing loads correctly and adhering to all transport legislation.
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately.
• Communicating with the transport office throughout the day.
• Providing a professional level of customer service.
• Operating a Class 1 articulated vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Occasional use of pump truck for pallet movements where required.
• Maintaining compliance with Driver Hours and Working Time regulations.
