Pure Staff is recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Day Driver to work with a palletised distribution client in Gloucester. This ongoing role offers regular shifts, competitive hourly rates and the chance to secure a long-term position within a well-established transport operation.

The driver will deliver and collect palletised freight while maintaining high standards of customer service and professionalism. Roles include days, potential overtime, and weekend work as required.

Qualifications

• Category C+E Driving Licence is required.
• Digital Tachograph Card and Driver CPC qualification are necessary.
• Good knowledge of Driver Hours regulations.
• Professional and reliable attitude essential.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting palletised goods to commercial customers.

Pay Rates

Monday to Friday

• £18.00 per hour PAYE
• £20.17 per hour PAYE (including rolled-up holiday pay)

Saturday

• £19.00 per hour PAYE
• £21.29 per hour PAYE (including rolled-up holiday pay)

Sunday & Bank Holidays

• £20.00 per hour PAYE
• £22.41 per hour PAYE (including rolled-up holiday pay)

Drivers can choose between accruing holiday pay separately or receiving rolled-up holiday pay as part of our hourly rate.

About the Role

Pure Staff are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Day Driver to work with one of our long-standing clients within the palletised distribution industry. This is an ongoing opportunity offering regular work, excellent rates of pay and the chance to secure a long-term position with a well-established transport operation in the Gloucester area.

The successful HGV Class 1 Day Driver will be responsible for delivering and collecting palletised freight while maintaining high standards of customer service and professionalism.

Duties and Responsibilities

As an HGV Class 1 Day Driver, you will be responsible for:

• Delivering and collecting palletised goods to commercial customers
• Completing 3-8 deliveries and collections per shift
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time
• Securing loads correctly and adhering to all transport legislation
• Communicating with the transport office throughout the day
• Providing a professional level of customer service
• Operating a Class 1 articulated vehicle safely and efficiently
• Occasional use of pump truck for pallet movements where required
• Maintaining compliance with Driver Hours and Working Time regulations

Shift Pattern

• Monday to Friday
• 07:00 starts
• Typical shifts between 8 and 12 hours
• Ongoing work available
• Optional overtime shifts available
• Weekend work available when required

Requirements

To be considered for this HGV Class 1 Day Driver role, you will require:

• Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Good knowledge of Driver Hours regulations
• Professional and reliable attitude
• Strong communication and customer service skills
