Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers for ongoing temp-to-perm roles in Wellingborough. Typical start times are between 04:00 and 06:00, with some days and nights available. Expect 2–3 drops per shift, occasional tail-lift deliveries, and loads shuffled as required.

Drivers must hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence and be able to work safely, with good time management and punctuality. GXO training and regulations apply, with opportunities for overtime and progression.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence held and up to date.
• Commitment to shifts/rotas and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work safely when working alone.
• Good understanding of UK drivers' hours and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Start times typically 04:00–06:00, with some days/nights.
• 2–3 drops per shift; occasional tail lift deliveries and shuffling loads.
• Deliveries to sites with restricted access; some Class 2 work may arise.
• Comply with GXO training and regulations.

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers

About the Role

HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers - Main duties and requirements are:

Typical start times will be 04:00 - 06:00, leaning more toward 04:00.

Double manning on occasion

Deliveries made with tail lift where drivers deliver & collect equal amount, shuffling of the load required

Deliveries to sites with side tipping

Deliveries to NDCs

Occasional class 2 work

Deliveries to sites with restricted access, experience is preferred

Drivers required to comply with GXO training & regulations

2 - 3 drops a day

CNG vehicles, gassing / refuel must be done off site

Working Hours

• Minimum 8-hour shifts
• Days and nights available
• Monday - Friday

Pay

£18.00 - 20.00 per hour
