Job summary

HR Employment Bureau Redditch is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for a permanent role in Bootle, Merseyside. The position offers at least 40 hours per week with overtime options and a base rate of £18.50 per hour.

Responsibilities include transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste across the UK, complying with all regulations, and performing safety inspections. Nights out may be required occasionally; ADR is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Holds a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph card.
• ADR qualification preferred but not essential.
• Good understanding of drivers’ hours and transport legislation.

Responsibilities

• Transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials across locations in the UK.
• Ensure compliance with transport, environmental and health & safety regulations.
• Carry out daily vehicle walkarounds, inspections, and report any defects.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure equipment is serviced.
• Occasionally perform manual handling and yard duties as required.
• Adhere to drivers’ hours regulations and working time requirements.
• Accept occasional night out as dictated by operational needs.

HGV Class 1 Driver – Hazardous Waste

Location: Bootle, Merseyside

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday + Overtime

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a well-established and growing company specialising in hazardous waste management and recycling, based in Bootle earning a base rate of £18.50 per hour.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional Class 1 Driver looking for a permanent position with opportunities for overtime and additional earnings.

Key Responsibilities

• Transporting and collecting hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials from various locations across the UK.
• Ensuring full compliance with all relevant transport, environmental and health & safety regulations.
• Completing daily vehicle walkaround checks, recording inspections and reporting defects.
• Maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and ensuring equipment is properly maintained.
• Undertaking some manual handling and occasional yard duties when required.
• Adhering to drivers' hours regulations and working time requirements.
• Completing occasional nights out as required by operational demands.
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely, professionally and efficiently.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.

• Flexibility to undertake occasional nights out and additional hours when required.

Working Hours & Benefits
