Job summary

Pertemps Bond is recruiting an experienced Bulk Tanker Driver for an ongoing role in Middlesbrough. The position involves delivering bulk liquids, handling tanker filling, and ensuring compliance with tachograph and vehicle roadworthiness standards.

Applicants should have LGV Class 1 licence (3+ years), ADR Class 2 in tanks, tanker experience, and knowledge of EU tachograph regulations. Role requires on-site work in Middlesbrough.

Qualifications

• Numerical and written/verbal communication skills required.
• Practical tanker driving experience with ADR tanks.
• Solid knowledge of tachograph rules and EU/WTD regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product to internal and external customers as directed by Local Transport Manager / DPC.
• Fill and analyse tankers and high-pressure trailers.
• Ensure legal compliance in recording hours via tachograph and keep vehicles roadworthy.
• Deliver bulk liquids against service indicators and review with Transport Manager.
• Self-manage to meet service levels.
• Coordinate with DPC, garage and Transport Manager on vehicle, customer and schedule issues.
• Follow customer delivery instructions in planning and vessel notifications.
• Couple/uncouple motive units and tow vehicles; refuel as needed.

Class 1 / HGV 1 ADR Bulk Tanker Driver

Basic pay rate: £19.30ph

We are currently recruiting for experienced Bulk Tanker Drivers to join our client on a temporary ongoing basis.

Purpose of the position:

• Deliver product to internal and external customers as directed by Local Transport Manager / DPC.
• Fill and analyse tankers and high-pressure trailers.
• Ensure legal compliance at all times in recording of hours worked via personal Tachograph and vehicle is road worthy at all times.
• Delivery of the Bulk liquid against Key Service indicators and review service performance with the local Transport Manager on a regular basis.
• Manage own performance to achieve agreed service levels.
• Liaise with DPC, Garage workshop and local Transport Manager daily, in relation to vehicle, customer and personal issues that would impact on ability to achieve 100% compliance to scheduled daily work schedule.
• Compliance to any Customer specific delivery instructions as noted within planning schedule / Bulk App regarding customer vessels and/or prior notification of arrival on site.
• Couple and Uncouple Motive Units/Towing Vehicles from Tankers/Trailers
• Refuel Vehicle

Safety and Compliance

• Drivers will wear the company uniform at all times whilst on duty and protective clothing when required to meet the needs of the job as laid down in the protective clothing schedule.
• Work towards the achievement of branch safety targets and ensuring continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with Company safety processes, standards, and work instructions, including risk assessments, near miss reporting, collision / incident investigation, Computer Based Training.
• Ensure all customer site assessments, dynamic & manual handling risk assessments are carried out while at customer locations.
• Ensure customer vessels are visual inspected prior to delivery then ensures all defects noted are recorded / reported to CES. Compliance with Company and Legal Standards, Policies & Principles

Required skills/qualifications/experience

• Numerical literacyCommunication - External/internal - written/verbal
• LGV Class 1 licence for over 3 years
• Have no more than 3 valid penalty points
• Demonstrate experience of tanker driving
• ADR Class 2 licence in tanks
• Have a good understanding of EU and WTD tachograph legislation
