Job summary

Chaucer Group seeks a Claims Operations Analyst to support the Claims department across classes of business, reporting to the Head of Claims Operations. You will help re-engineer processes, manage claim work streams, and ensure accurate procedures and regulatory reporting.

Collaboration with IT and external partners is essential; a proactive, organized team player is preferred. The role emphasizes data-driven reporting, testing, and timely settlement of claims, with a flexible hybrid working

Qualifications

  • Good numerical skills and advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Experience in an operational role within insurance/claims.
  • Familiarity with Lloyd’s and Lirma claims processes.
  • Ability to use central market systems (ECF/IMR/DDM).
  • Educated to A level standard with Lloyd’s syndicate/Lirma exposure; delegated authority/bordereaux experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with re-engineering of key processes within Claims.
  • Manage Claims work streams for Chaucer Group initiatives.
  • Ensure accuracy of Claims procedures manuals and process maps.
  • Coordinate with IT for claims related projects and system testing.
  • Design and implement statistical and narrative claims reports and performance metrics.
  • Oversee external partners (Coverholders, TPAs) and Bordereau processing/mapping.
  • Manage external expert panels and exception requests; support regulatory reporting (Conduct Risk, Solvency II).
  • Oversee high-level organisation of external business partner contracts; support data entry and settlement processing as needed.

Job summary

The Claims Operations Analyst role is primarily focused towards supporting the Claims department across all classes of business from an operational perspective. Reporting to the Head of Claims Operations and Delegated Authority, the role has a wide scope and aims to support the development and delivery of the Chaucer Claims Service.

Provision of the following support services for the Claims Department:

  • Assist with the re-engineering of key processes.
  • Manage Claims work streams of new Chaucer Group initiatives.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of Claims Department Procedure manuals and process maps.
  • Regularly liaise with IT to ensure claims related IT projects/requests are on time/appropriate. Manage system testing when required.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of statistical and narrative claims reports along with the establishment of performance measurement targets.
  • General management of Coverholders and Third-Party Administrators with Claims Authority. Including loss funds/Vitesse, and Claims Bordereau processing/mapping.
  • Management of External Expert panels and exception requests.
  • Management of external Peer Review process
  • Production of key regulatory reporting such as Conduct Risk and Solvency II.
  • Management of outstanding Static and TBA claims records
  • Responsible for the high-level organisation of external business partner contracts.
  • Other ad hoc projects supporting claims department, including supporting claims data entry and settlement processing where required.
Regulatory responsibilities

To provide guidance to Customers:

  • On how to make and/or progress a claim;
  • By supplying appropriate information to the Customer on any claim being handled;
  • By endeavouring to achieve prompt agreement on settlement terms and paying valid claims in a timely manner once settlement terms have been agreed;
  • Ensure that Customer Complaints are promptly identified, recorded and referred as appropriate ; and,
  • By ensuring that the principles of Treating Customers Fairly are upheld by Agents and Service Providers
Our requirements
Technical skills
  • Good numerical skills
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in an operational role
  • Familiarity with both Lloyd’s and Lirma claims processes
  • Capability to use central market systems e.g. ECF, IMR, DDM
Education & Experience
  • Educated to A level standard with some experience working for a Lloyd's syndicate and/or Lirma Company or equivalent
  • Some experience of the delegated authority/bordereaux process from either a Claims or Underwriting perspective is desirable.
