Claims Handler CH4

Department: Legal

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Liverpool

Description

Keoghs are seeking a Claims Handler (CH4) to join their Liverpool team. The claims handler will proactively manage a caseload of Public Liability, Employers Liability, and Property Damage claims (up to and including reserve limits of £40,000) to conclusion. Additionally, the role involves conducting audits within the department.

Key Accountabilities
  • Create accurate Claims Management System records.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, service, and productivity.
  • Develop client contacts and understand client culture.
  • Attend client review meetings when appropriate.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Undertake projects and deliver within agreed timescales.
  • Keep Managers informed of client changes and issues.
  • Report to Team Leader/Claims Unit Service Manager and undertake additional tasks as assigned.
  • Allocate new claims as required.
  • Carry out supervisory tasks appropriate to level and instructions.
  • Perform monthly audits for all fee earners in the department.
  • Conduct client audits as needed.
  • Develop and maintain an audit process for feedback, with outputs communicated to relevant stakeholders.
Working Hours

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with 1 hour unpaid for lunch.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years claims handling experience, with at least 3 years in EL/PL dealing with complex quantum.
  • Significant experience in evaluating, negotiating, and settling Public/Employers' Liability Claims.
  • Experience in training or supervising (desirable).
  • Technical delivery experience with RSI or CRPS preferred but not essential.
  • Effective workload prioritization and organization skills.
  • Understanding of the market and industry.
