Job summary

Allianz UK is seeking an Operational Data Improvement Manager to join the Claims Insight Performance team. Hybrid role across Guildford, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, London, and Bournemouth, with a minimum 2 days in the office.

You will lead ML models, robotics, and analytics initiatives, bridging business and analytics to improve data-driven decision making and customer outcomes. The role requires strong claims knowledge, data literacy, and a track record in deploying analytics with governance

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Claims and the wider UK business.
• Good understanding of how data is used within operational areas.
• Solid understanding of machine learning lifecycles and production deployment concepts.
• Ability to constructively challenge models and analytical concepts.
• Strong stakeholder management across operational, data, governance, and technology teams.
• Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Balanced mindset combining performance, customer fairness, and risk awareness.

Responsibilities

• Own the lifecycle of ML models, robotics and analytics from use case definition to deployment, monitoring and retirement.
• Partner with operational leadership to translate objectives into clear problem statements and metrics.
• Oversee model performance, drift, bias, data quality issues and misuse.
• Embed model outputs into decisioning with well-understood recommendations and thresholds.
• Champion data literacy and adoption across Claims teams.
• Balance innovation with risk and control, ensuring mitigations for model, data, conduct and regulatory risks.
• Support governance and assurance with documentation, explainability, and audit readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance data, features, or processes affecting model effectiveness.
