Purpose of the Role

We are currently seeking a Claims Adjuster (US Casualty) to join our well-established and market-leading Claims team, responsible for handling claims working alongside our Senior Claims Adjusters. This position is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic and enjoys problem-solving, seeking a new challenge within a dynamic, high-performing Syndicate.

Duties and Accountabilities
  • Handle claims, ranging in complexity, within a pre-determined authority level in accordance with AEGIS London’s Claims commitment, philosophy and procedures
  • Adherence to internal and external standards for claims handling and customer service, for example through meeting SLAs and ensuring systems, e.g. ECF and DOCOsoft, are kept updated
  • Ensure our Underwriters and other internal stakeholders are kept informed of valuable claims information and/or issues and the subsequent impact on underwriting and policy interpretation
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with external clients, brokers and third party experts
  • Regularly communicate with the wider Claims team and update on any relevant claims movements, issues and trends
  • Provide general support to the wider team, such as ad hoc tasks or projects as they arise
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Have a demonstrable claims background and technically sound claims knowledge
  • Have a good working knowledge of London Market claims systems (e.g. ECF)
  • Be confident when liaising with internal and external stakeholders and clients
  • Have good written and verbal communication and a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Enjoy problem solving, and be able to adapt to meet changing priorities and deadlines
  • Be able to work both collaboratively as part of a team and autonomously when required
  • Be proficient in Word/Excel and similar applications
  • Be part ACII qualified or working towards ACII (desirable but not essential)
