You might review policy T&Cs with Underwriters, update on large losses, collaborate with Finance on claims settlements, or meet with Brokers and Customers to discuss claims. You will develop your skills through structured training and support from experienced colleagues.

As a Claims Adjuster in the Motor claims team, you will manage and resolve claims for our customers, working closely with your manager and team members to reach resolutions.

This role offers the opportunity to handle a variety of claims for our diverse corporate clients, broadening your experience. You will be part of a supportive team dedicated to claims handling and customer service excellence.

You will be based in Ipswich, with our upcoming Smart Working initiative allowing a hybrid work model of remote and office work.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Handling all aspects of claims within your authority to high technical standards, including legal and policy liability assessment, negotiation, settlement, and litigation management.
  2. Efficiently managing claims above your personal authority through the referral system.
  3. Providing quality claims service, ensuring compliance with standards.
  4. Building and maintaining customer relationships to support business retention.
  5. Receiving claims notifications, assessing estimates, and negotiating settlements.
  6. Considering third-party liabilities, detecting fraud, and maximising recoveries.

We seek candidates with these skills and abilities:

  1. Experience in handling motor claims, including notification of loss, accidental damage, third-party property damage, and credit hire claims.
  2. Understanding of the claims process lifecycle.
  3. Knowledge of legal procedures and litigation.
  4. Experience managing loss adjusters, solicitors, and experts.
  5. Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  6. Problem-solving skills and an inquisitive mindset.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  8. Ownership and accountability in managing claims to achieve optimal outcomes.
  9. Commitment to delivering prompt, fair, and innovative claims service to strengthen broker and client relationships.
