An exciting opportunity has arisen at Acute Medicine of Unscheduled Care for a qualified registered Band 6 Advanced Nurse Practitioner Trainee to join our innovative, forward-thinking, friendly, and supportive nursing and medical teams.
We are looking for a team player eager to help the Acute Medicine department continue its success and contribute to its key performance measures. The role of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner Trainee will focus on improving patient outcomes by enhancing the quality of their hospital stay. They will support senior medical staff in ensuring continuity and efficiency in service delivery.
The successful applicant interested in a Trainee position will hold a BSc and PgCert or PgDip qualifications in Advanced Practice. An Independent Non-medical Prescribing (INMP) qualification is not mandatory, but we expect to support a successful candidate through the course and/or other studies up to the PgDip, based on regular reviews, to fulfill the role of an ANP.
In addition to the clinical qualifications, the candidate must have a minimum of 5 years post-registration extensive clinical experience, particularly within Acute Medicine. The candidate should demonstrate high standards of clinical care, sound decision-making, and excellent interpersonal skills. The role involves hands-on clinical nursing and is suitable for individuals motivated to reach their potential within an innovative environment. Clinical skills progression will be supported, with training in areas such as lumbar punctures, arterial blood gas procedures, virtual assessments, and more. An interest in audit, medicines management, service redesign, and expansion is also essential.
