Job summary

United Infrastructure Ltd. is seeking a Team Leader to oversee a civils crew delivering excavation, installation, repair and reinstatement works on water and sewer assets.

You will direct plant and labour, brief on permits and risk assessments, and coach operatives to achieve first-time-right delivery. The role requires hands-on leadership, clear communication with the Site Manager and client teams, and flexibility for standby work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a civils/utility crew on site.
• Hands-on competence in excavation, pipework or drainage reinstatement.
• Valid CSCS card (or equivalent) and a valid driving licence.
• Willingness to travel across the Northumbrian Water region and be on standby.

Responsibilities

• Lead, organise and motivate a civils crew on a daily basis and ensure output meets plan in safety and quality.
• Brief team on job packs, drawings, permits, risk assessments and method statements before work starts.
• Coach operatives in excavation, reinstatement and safe working practices; act as on-site contact for managers, inspectors and public.
• Manage time, plant, materials and labour to meet programme and service-level expectations; remain an on-site working member of the crew.
