Job summary

Smart 4 EPC is seeking a Civils Sub Agent on a contract basis in West London, close to a major international airport. You will support cost management, programme preparation and mentor site engineers while ensuring safety, quality and environmental standards are met on civils and utilities works.

Responsibilities include coordinating labour, plant and materials, managing subcontractors and maintaining accurate cost records.

Qualifications

• Commercial knowledge with practical application in civils or utilities.
• Experience in cost-conscious environments.
• People management experience.
• Experience managing subcontractors.
• CSCS card held.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with clients and stakeholders.
• Technical civil engineering knowledge with Section Engineer-level site experience.
• Proficient computer skills.
• ICE membership or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Follow company procedures, including method statements, risk assessments and briefings, setting a strong example on health, safety, quality and environmental standards
• Support the Agent with cost management and programme preparation
• Mentor site engineers to maintain strong engineering control and accurate records
• Work with commercial teams to ensure measurement and payment records are accurate and timely
• Work with the Agent to allocate labour, plant, materials and temporary works designs
• Flag potential commercial or contractual risks to the Agent
• Manage material orders and supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery
• Manage subcontractors to ensure services are delivered effectively and in line with company policies
• Promote company values in all dealings with colleagues, clients, subcontractors and external contacts
• Deliver daily activity briefings and keep a regular site diary
