Job summary

Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd is seeking a Civils General Operative to support civils and drainage projects across the South of England. You will assist excavation activities, utility location and avoidance, site preparation, and reinstatement work as part of a hands‑on team focused on high quality workmanship.

A valid NRSWA Street Works qualification is essential for this role. Full UK driving licence and CAT & Genny qualification are desirable, and you will work outdoors in a team environment

Qualifications

• Experience in civils, utilities, groundwork, construction or similar environments.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely.
• Strong awareness of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions and take initiative.
• NRSWA Street Works qualification is essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence and CAT & Genny qualification are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist excavation activities and utility location/avoidance.
• Support site preparation, reinstatement works and general construction duties.
• Operate plant and equipment where authorised.
