Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting for a Civil's Construction CRE to join the work winning team in Manchester. The role involves signing off as the nominated CRE for civil construction on site and ensuring adherence to NR standards and project specs.

The successful candidate will review and enforce WPPs, TBSs, and ITPs, coordinate with Design CRE and CEM on RFIs and design changes, and oversee temporary works and quality checks to drive zero-defect delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of holding Network Rail CRE (Construction) acceptance on civil engineering/infrastructure projects.
• Valid PTS, CSCS Black/Gold Card, and SMSTS.
• Deep knowledge of heavy civil engineering (structures, earthworks, drainage, platform extensions, piling, bridges).
• Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering; Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status desirable.

Responsibilities

• Sign off as the nominated Construction CRE, taking technical and engineering accountability for civil construction activities on site.
• Review, sign off, and enforce Work Package Plans (WPPs), Task Briefs (TBSs), and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Work closely with the Design CRE and CEM to resolve technical queries (RFIs) and manage design changes or variations seamlessly.
• Ensure all construction works comply with Network Rail standards, Railway Group Standards, and project specifications.
• Manage temporary works on site, ensuring compliance with BS 5975 and working closely with the TWC.
• Lead engineering shift handovers, progress updates, and technical briefings with site delivery teams.

My client, an industry leading construction and civil engineering firm are looking for an experienced Civil's Construction CRE to join their work winning team in Manchester.

This is a 6 month contract, inside IR
35. Candidate Responsibilities: Sign off as the nominated Construction CRE, taking technical and engineering accountability for civil construction activities on site.

Review, sign off, and enforce Work Package Plans (WPPs), Task Briefs (TBSs), and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Work closely with the Design CRE and CEM to resolve technical queries (RFIs) and manage design changes or variations seamlessly.

Ensure all construction works comply with Network Rail standards, Railway Group Standards, and project specifications.

Manage temporary works on site, ensuring compliance with BS 5975 and working closely with the TWC. Conduct regular site inspections, engineering audits, and quality checks to drive zero-defect delivery.

Lead engineering shift handovers, progress updates, and technical briefings with site delivery teams.

Candidate Requirements: Proven track record of holding Network Rail CRE (Construction) acceptance on civil engineering/infrastructure projects.

Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience). Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (MICE/ICE) is desirable.

Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety), CSCS Black/Gold Card, and SMSTS. Deep knowledge of heavy civil engineering (e.g., structures, earthworks, drainage, platform extensions, piling, bridges). Comprehensive understanding of Network Rail standards (NR/L2/CIV, NR/L2/INI/02009, etc.) and CDM Regulations 2015.
