Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a highly experienced Civil Structural Inspector for a contract role in Teesside. You will oversee civil and structural construction activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, codes, ITPs and client requirements, while monitoring quality records and material certificates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in civil and structural inspection.
• Previous QC inspection experience is essential.
• Experience in structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Strong attention to detail and Right First Time mindset.
• Good coordination and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written communication skills for clear reporting.
• Self-motivated, organised and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with project HSES standards and documentation.
• Carry out timely inspections during civil and structural activities.
• Identify and prevent non-compliance issues and support problem resolution.
• Review material test certificates against project specifications.
• Ensure project preservation requirements are followed.
• Maintain material traceability throughout construction activities.
• Witness activities in line with ITPs and project standards.
• Endorse reports and ITP points where appropriate.
• Ensure quality records are completed and stored correctly.
• Provide feedback to support supplier performance evaluations.
