Job summary

Rullion is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer for a permanent role in Bristol with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days on site). The engineer will collaborate with site-based teams, BIM/CAD specialists and project managers to define and deliver structural solutions.

You will work with Eurocode standards, support 3D BIM modelling, and coordinate with overseas Back Offices to close design packages. A BPSS clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Degree or Masters in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience with the detailed design phases and transition to construction.
• Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Modify reinforced concrete or steel designs to Eurocodes and project methods.
• Coordinate detailing with CAD designers for 3D BIM rebar models and 2D drawings.
• Manage engineering changes per QA processes.
• Respond to Field Changes Requests and Site Non-Conformance from civil works contractors.
• Liaise with site teams and overseas back offices for design issues.
• Conduct technical review and acceptance of contractor deliverables and site inspections.

Job title: Civil Structural Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 pa + Benefits
Location: Bristol
Hours of work: 40 Hours Per Week - Hybrid 3 days per week onsite

The Role

You will be involved in the wide ranging activities undertaken by our site based teams, which will
Include. You will enjoy working closely with other engineers, engineers pilot, BIM Coordinator,
BIM manager, chief draftsman, draftsman, project managers and multi-disciplinary teams and be able
to work with these stakeholders to define solutions.

Main Responsibilities will include but not be limited to

• Modifying reinforced concrete or steel structure designs compliant with the ETC-C or other relevant codes Eurocodes and project methodology.
• Checking and coordinating the detailing activities with CAD designers or other engineers in preparation of 3D BIM rebar model and/or 2D drawings of reinforced concrete or steel structures.
• Managing engineering changes in line with company/project procedures and QA process.
• In charge of the assessment and the response to Field Changes Requests, Field Information requests or Site Non Conformance coming from the civil works contractors.
• You will liase with other stakeholders, site engineering teams or construction teams for clarification on the site requests.
• You will also liase with Back Offices which are overseas, regarding package or for closing out of design package issues.
• Technical review and acceptance of contractor deliverables, Site Walkdowns and inspections.

Experience/Qualifications

• All candidates MUST be Degree or Masters qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering or other relevant discipline
• You will have working knowledge of the detailed design phases and how this is transitioned to the construction phase.
• You will have previous experience of the nuclear industry sector or other highly regulated industry sectors.
