Job summary

Gearing Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a motivated Civil Site Engineer to support the delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure across the region. You will set out, supervise subcontractors, manage quality records and help plan short-term milestones.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, setting-out experience, a UK driving licence, and a commitment to health and safety and quality. The role offers hybrid working, competitive salary, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of setting out and surveying techniques.
• Knowledge of health, safety and quality requirements in construction.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience within water or wastewater sector (Desirable).
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts (Desirable).
• SMSTS/SSSTS or equivalent site safety qualification (Desirable).
• Experience using digital construction tools and QA/QC systems (Desirable).
• Membership of ICE or another professional institution (Desirable).
• Working towards Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status or equivalent (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying civil engineering works.
• Supervising subcontractors and site operatives.
• Completing quality inspections, ITPs and records.
• Producing and maintaining site documentation.
• Supporting programme delivery and short-term planning.
• Ensuring health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
• Working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Monitoring progress and driving improvements.
