Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting for a Project Manager to lead the site-based delivery of a £65m, two-stage educational development in Carmarthen, West Wales. You will manage heavy civils, earthworks, and RC structures from pre-construction through to completion on a live campus.

The role is full-time and permanent with a market-ready package including a £75k base salary, car allowance and benefits in a Tier 1 contracting environment.

• SMSTS.
• First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Drive day-to-day site operations, managing subcontractor packages, engineering teams, and site safety.

About the Role

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to lead the site-based delivery of a major £65m, two-stage educational development in Carmarthen, West Wales.

Delivering a state-of-the-art series of new college facilities within an operational campus environment, you will take ownership from pre-construction through to full completion. The package involves extensive heavy civils, major earthworks, and reinforced concrete (RC) structures.

This is a full-time, permanent position joining a Tier 1 main contractor with a strong pipeline of upcoming works in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive day-to-day site operations, managing subcontractor packages, engineering teams, and site safety.
• Oversee critical civil engineering deliverables, including major earthworks cut-and-fill, drainage, foundations, and RC frame construction.
• Interface closely with client teams, campus stakeholders, and design partners to ensure seamless delivery within a live educational environment.
• Maintain strict commercial control, progress tracking, quality assurance, and project reporting.

Key Requirements

• Industry Background: Proven track record as a Project Manager within the Civil Engineering Contracting sector.
• Technical Experience: Demonstrable hands-on experience delivering heavy civils, earthworks packages, and RC structures.
• Location: Candidates based in or within realistic commuting distance of Carmarthen, Swansea, or West Wales are strongly preferred.
• Qualifications: Relevant Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management, CSCS Black Card, SMSTS, and First Aid.
