Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Civil Project Engineer in Chorley to deliver highways and drainage designs for development and adoptable works.

You will use AutoCAD, Site3D, and Causeway Flow on multiple UK projects, work to CIRIA, BRE Digest and BS EN 752, and support S278, S38 and S104 submissions.

The role offers flexible working, clear career progression, and mentorship whilst you build hands-on design experience toward Chartership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of UK highways and drainage design experience.
• Strong AutoCAD, Site3D and Causeway Flow capability.
• Good understanding of S278, S38 and S104 standards.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to manage delivery efficiently.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
• Working toward Chartership, or interested in pursuing it.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highways and drainage designs for development and adoptable works.
• Prepare calculations, sketches, design models and technical drawings.
• Use AutoCAD, Site3D, Causeway Flow or similar software.
• Work to current standards including CIRIA guides, BRE Digest and BS EN 752.
• Support S278, S38 and S104 approvals and related submissions.
• Manage your workload across multiple projects and support programme delivery.
• Undertake site visits and prepare reports and specifications.
• Support junior staff and contribute to design quality and team efficiency.
