Job summary

NPA Recruit is seeking a Civil Litigation Lawyer for our well-established East Sussex client in Eastbourne. This on-site role offers a negotiable working arrangement and a competitive salary DOE, with a focus on client advisory, case strategy and court proceedings.

Qualified CILEx Legal Executive or Solicitor with a valid practicing certificate will handle pleadings, discovery, ADR and post-trial actions while managing costs and budgets. Signing bonus available, with other benefits as negotiated.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified CILEx Legal Executive or Solicitor with a valid practicing certificate.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on legal issues, case merits, options and likely outcomes.
• Research laws, regulations and precedents to inform strategy.
• Draft and review pleadings, witness statements and settlement agreements.
• Manage pre-action protocols, compliance and ADR options.
• Handle disclosure and respond to discovery requests.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in ADR and mediation/arbitration.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and liaise with barristers for higher advocacy.
• Maintain client communication and provide updates and strategic advice.
• Ensure timely court filings and procedural compliance.
• Advise on costs, funding and manage legal budgets.
• Oversee post-trial actions, including appeals and enforcement.
• Stay informed on procedural rules and legislative developments.

Key Responsibilities
