The Role:

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Civil Foreman to join our dynamic team at Camex Civil in Cambridge. With a strong pipeline of high-profile projects and a reputation for excellence in civil construction, this is your opportunity to lead crews and deliver top-quality work while growing your leadership skills in a supportive environment.

As a Civil Foreman at Camex Civil, you’ll play a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day site operations and leading a crew to successfully deliver a range of civil construction projects. You’ll be responsible for managing resources, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Team Leadership: You’ll lead and manage a crew, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standards, while providing mentorship and training to apprentices and junior staff.
  2. Project Delivery: You’ll work closely with the Site Manager to oversee all aspects of project execution, from resource allocation and job progress to ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  3. Health & Safety Management: You’ll ensure all onsite health and safety protocols are followed, maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring all required documentation is up to date.
  4. Quality Control: You’ll oversee the quality of work, including reviewing plans and drawings, conducting QA tests, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  5. Communication: You’ll act as a key point of contact between site teams and management, providing updates on job progress and any challenges that arise.

What You’ll Bring:

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is committed to safety and quality, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a Foreman or leadership role within the civil construction industry.
  • Proven experience in drainage, earthworks, and civil siteworks. Operating experience required.
  • The ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage crews and collaborate with site teams.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations in construction.
  • Full Class 1 Driver’s License (Class 2 or WTR endorsements a bonus).

At Camex Civil, we believe our people are our greatest asset. By joining us, you’ll be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence. We foster a supportive environment where your ideas are heard, and your contributions are recognised.

Some of the benefits include:

  • A supportive work environment with regular social events and a vibrant team culture where you’ll build lasting relationships.
  • Competitive remuneration with opportunities for career growth.
  • Comprehensive training and development opportunities, including mentoring and external courses to help you grow in your role.
  • Access to our state-of-the-art company gym to support your health and well-being.
