Job summary

Farrans in Belfast is seeking a Civil Engineering Estimator to join our busy Pre-Contract team. The role focuses on preparing independent estimates for major projects worth £10m+ and liaising with clients, project teams, and supply chain partners.

The successful candidate will work with bid managers, estimators and writers to maximise tender success on contracts across the UK & Ireland, typically ranging £10m to £50m+. Based from Belfast, a driving license and strong numeracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; UK/ROI estimating experience preferred.
• 5+ years of civil estimating experience with knowledge of roads, bridges, renewables, water or marine.
• Strong numerical and data analysis abilities; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with bid management to schedule enquiries, pricing and adjudication.
• Prepare and issue enquiry documents to suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Extract and develop bill of quantities from drawings and tenders.
• Price items and evaluate quotations to match project specs.
• Lead tender adjudication with reports and presentations.
• Submit complete tender documents by client deadlines.
