Job summary

Amey Ltd invites applications for a 12‑month Industry Placement in Water & Flood Management based in Belfast, with salary starting at £26,582. The role offers hands-on experience on flood risk and water management projects, developing practical engineering skills alongside seasoned professionals.

You'll work with a multidisciplinary team, attend site visits, and contribute to reports, hydrological studies and design development, while pursuing a path toward professional chartership.

Qualifications

• Working towards a BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative approach and desire to learn from experienced professionals.
• Enthusiasm for water, environmental and flood risk engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support the feasibility, design and delivery of flood risk and water management projects.
• Assist with engineering calculations, technical assessments and design development.
• Prepare engineering drawings and documentation using industry-standard software.
• Contribute to hydrological, hydraulic modelling, flood risk assessments and drainage studies.
• Undertake site visits, inspections and surveys.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, business cases and client presentations.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors and stakeholders.
• Develop an understanding of relevant design standards, CDM requirements and industry best practice.
• Support project delivery whilst building your path towards professional chartership.
