Job summary

Port of Tilbury London Ltd is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to deliver on-site civil projects within a 24/7 port environment. You will own projects from inception through to completion, coordinating with port teams and contractors to keep programs on track.

Requirements include a BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering, 2–3 years on-site experience, AutoCAD proficiency and a full UK driving licence. You will operate in a high-demand, live setting with close safety oversight.

Qualifications

• BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or closely related discipline).
• 2-3 years UK construction or civil engineering project experience on site.
• AutoCAD proficiency and ability to produce/modify civil drawings.
• Full UK driving licence - site travel is a daily requirement.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of civil engineering projects from feasibility through to practical completion.
• Manage project programmes and budgets (£50k-£500k).
• Coordinate with operational teams to schedule works around 24/7 port activities.
• Produce and update technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop scopes of works and review contractor designs and method statements.
• Apply engineering principles to solve practical problems in a live operational environment.
• Act as Client representative under CDM 2015 regulations and ensure safety compliance.
