The Vacancy

Are you an experienced engineer seeking a new challenge? Do you have previous experience in Highways and/or Drainage works? Are you looking to expand your knowledge and grow your career? SCP Infrastructure & Design - An RSK Group offers a great opportunity!

In this role, you will confidently make key, evidence-based design decisions and present your reasoning to senior management and external stakeholders. You will also collaborate with key stakeholders and senior team members on various projects across the business.

You should be able and confident to challenge others within the design team, propose solutions to engineering problems, and make decisions in consultation with senior team members.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Produce drawings in accordance with standard procedures and quality standards.
2. Provide technical leadership in at least one core skill of the business.
3. Plan and manage project resources, adapting plans to meet deadlines.
4. Review drawings and calculations prepared by colleagues to ensure quality.
5. Undertake calculations and designs using efficient processes and relevant software.
6. Lead updates on legislation, codes of practice, and design standards, and implement changes across teams.

Person Specification & Experience:

You should have experience in designing roads and sewers across sectors such as residential, commercial, industrial, energy, education, and healthcare. Experience in preparing reports and documents like Flood Risk Assessments, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, and Drainage Strategy Reports is desirable.

You must be a strong communicator with excellent listening skills, capable of working efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential.
