Job summary

Arup in Manchester is seeking a Civil Engineer to support the delivery of strategic masterplanning and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will work with senior engineers to shape development proposals from early definition through delivery planning.

The role focuses on delivering sustainable infrastructure for large-scale urban extensions, regeneration schemes and nationally significant projects, collaborating with planners, transport/environmental specialists, architects and engineers

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is required.
• Experience in civil engineering design for infrastructure projects is desirable.
• Familiarity with digital design, BIM and automation within engineering delivery is advantageous.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
• Progression toward or achievement of professional chartership (ICE or equivalent) would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of infrastructure strategies for major masterplanning and development projects.
• Prepare Infrastructure Delivery Plans (IDPs) to inform planning, business cases and investment decisions.
• Develop utility strategies covering water, wastewater, power, telecommunications and other key networks.
• Develop drainage and flood risk strategies.
• Assess infrastructure constraints, opportunities and capacity requirements for development sites.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary technical inputs to support masterplans and development frameworks.
