Job summary

AVA Energy is seeking an experienced Civil / FRC Engineer to supervise and inspect reinforced concrete works for a major power infrastructure project in the UK. You will ensure safety, quality and programme adherence, coordinating with contractors, client representatives and designers.

Key responsibilities include reviewing designs, overseeing earthworks and concrete structures, conducting QA checks and managing NCRs/ITP documentation on site. NEC/FIDIC contracts knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering reinforced concrete works on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with (FRC) construction and quality control.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete construction methods, specifications and testing requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all civil and (FRC) construction activities on site.
• Monitor concrete placement, finishing and curing works to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Review reinforcement details, concrete mix designs and FRC requirements.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and method statements.
• Coordinate subcontractors undertaking earthworks, foundations, concrete structures and associated civil works.
• Carry out inspections and quality checks before, during and after concrete pours.
• Review and witness slump tests, cube testing and other quality assurance processes.
• Raise and manage technical queries, NCRs and site quality documentation.
• Liaise with design engineers regarding technical issues and construction interfaces.
• Monitor progress against programme and report on construction activities.
• Ensure full compliance with project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
• Participate in client inspections, walkdowns and handover activities.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Civil / FRC Engineer to support the construction of a major power infrastracture project. This role will focus on the supervision, inspection and quality management of (FRC) works, ensuring all civil activities are completed safely, to programme and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.

Working closely with the Contractor, client representatives, designers and subcontractors, you will play a key role in delivering complex reinforced concrete structures that form part of the converter station infrastructure.

Essential Experience

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience delivering reinforced concrete works on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with (FRC) construction and quality control.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete construction methods, specifications and testing requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret civil and structural engineering drawings.
• Previous experience ontransmission infrastructure projects, Knowledge of NEC or FIDIC contracts, CSCS Card, SMSTS or SSSTS, Temporary Works Co-Ordination, First Aid at Work. Full UK Driving Licence.
