Job Title: Civil Engineer

Our client, a design and build company based in Taunton, Somerset, specializing in surface water and sewage treatment systems, is seeking a Civil Engineer due to increased demand for consulting engineering services.

The successful candidate will support the development and design of surface and sewage management schemes. The ideal engineer will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and will have the opportunity to lead smaller projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of drainage strategies and feasibility studies
• Design of detailed drainage schemes for tender and construction
• Development of drainage layouts and section drawings
• Conduct flood risk assessments
• Focus mainly on SuDS, flood risk assessment, wastewater treatment, or pumping stations
• Support senior engineers in large-scale project delivery
• Assist construction teams during construction and commissioning, including setting out, construction details, and clash analysis

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree or academic qualification in a relevant subject (BEng, MEng, HNC, HND)
• Proficient in 2D CAD draughting
• Experience with hydraulic modelling (e.g., MicroDrainage)
• Understanding of CDM Regulations
• Knowledge of technical standards (e.g., Sewers for Adoption/DCG, British Standards, Building Regulations, Environmental Permitting Regulations)
• Driver's license
• Chartered or working towards Chartered status

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years in a similar role
