A civil engineer role with Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in the United Kingdom focuses on managing and delivering infrastructure projects across forest estates. You will oversee diverse assets, engage contractors and ensure safety, quality and timely delivery while working across site visits, design reviews and planning.
The position offers hybrid working, genuine work‑life balance and the chance to influence sustainable, low‑carbon engineering solutions within iconic landscapes.
Location: Lyndhurst / New Forest and South District
Perhaps you're currently working in consultancy and want to spend less time behind a desk and more time seeing projects come to life.
Maybe you're working for a contractor and are ready to trade long hours, site pressures and relentless deadlines for a healthier work-life balance.
Or perhaps you're already client-side and looking for more variety, ownership and the opportunity to work on projects that make a genuine difference. If that sounds familiar, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
Our client, the UK's largest land manger, is looking for a Civil Engineer to help manage and deliver infrastructure projects across some of the country's most important forests and landscapes.
This isn't a traditional consultancy or contractor role.
You'll take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, helping maintain and improve a diverse portfolio of civil engineering assets. One project might involve refurbishing a reservoir, another upgrading forest roads, delivering visitor facilities, improving car parks, maintaining bridges or supporting the development of nationally recognised cycling and recreation trails.
No two days are the same.
You'll split your time between site visits, contractor engagement, design reviews, project planning and stakeholder management. Rather than focusing on a single asset type or project sector, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of engineering challenges while helping ensure the infrastructure is safe, sustainable and fit for future generations.
It's a role that offers genuine autonomy, variety and the chance to see the direct impact of your work on the environment and the communities that use it.
We're interested in hearing from engineers with a few years' industry experience who are looking to broaden their project exposure and take ownership of their work. You could come from a consultancy, contractor, local authority or client-side background.Ideally you'll have:
Alongside the opportunity to work on projects that support and protect the UK's forests and green spaces, the organisation offers benefits rarely matched elsewhere in the construction sector:
Build infrastructure that lasts. Protect landscapes that matter. Enjoy a better balance while doing it.
