Job Description

I'm working with a well-established civil engineering consultancy that has recently opened a new office in Kettering. They’re looking to grow their Civils team with the addition of a Civil Engineer to support their expanding portfolio of projects both locally and nationally.

Their work includes multi-storey residential blocks, housing developments, schools, and commercial schemes, ranging from small bespoke jobs to large multi-million-pound projects.

Role Overview:

You’ll be joining a close-knit civils team of Engineers, Seniors, and Technicians, with responsibilities including:

• Supporting the design of roads, drainage, earthworks, and infrastructure from concept through to detailed design
• Producing calculations, models, drawings, and technical reports using recognised software
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Assisting with site visits, surveys, and project delivery
• Ensuring all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and health and safety regulations
• Participating in client meetings and contributing technical expertise
• Supporting continuous improvement and learning within the team

Software Exposure:

• AutoCAD (incl. Vehicle Tracking)
• Civil 3D
• MicroDrainage
• PDS

What They’re Looking For:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other civil design tools
• Understanding of drainage, highways, flood risk, and general infrastructure design
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proactive and eager to take ownership of your work
• Keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn
