Job Description

Role: Civil Engineer

Location: Cheltenham

Salary: £34k-£49k plus benefits

My client is looking for a Civil Engineer to join their team based in Cheltenham. Candidates should have as much of the following experience as possible:

1. BEng/MEng degree in Civil Engineering
2. Industry experience in appropriate Civil Engineering design
3. Experience in a variety of project types: commercial, retail, industrial, residential, leisure, etc. (Civils associated with building structures preferable)
4. Experience in the use of MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage
5. Comfortable developing drainage strategy schemes
6. Experience reviewing existing/proposed levels and earthworks, cut and fill estimates
7. Experience using Civils 3D (preferable)
8. Experience in the design of roads, including Section 56 / RCC applications
9. Experience producing drainage strategy and flood risk statement reports in support of planning
10. Experience dealing with SEPA
11. Commercial awareness and experience working directly with clients (preferable)
12. Open to gaining structural engineering design experience with support and training
13. Friendly approach, eager to learn and mentor others
14. Proactive attitude and desire to progress in career
15. Ability to fit in with company ethos and culture

Responsibilities

• Work with and support Project Engineers, Assistant/Graduate Engineers, Technicians, and Technical staff
• Ensure all design calculations, detailed drawings, specifications, reports, and health and safety standards meet client requirements and standards
• Control, issue, and update all drawings and documentation in accordance with the Quality Management System
• Monitor activities of Technicians and Drafting staff
• Attend relevant client, design team, and site meetings
