A well-established architectural company in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to expand their team. This role involves working on diverse projects throughout the UK, requiring strong communication skills and expertise in design software. The ideal candidate will engage in project management and liaise with clients while using programming tools to produce engineering designs.

Job description

Job Role: Civil Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Salary: Negotiable, DOE

XCL Group are working alongside a well - established architectural company that are looking to expand their civil engineering department in the Birmingham office. They are looking for someone who can assist the team by working on residential and non - residential projects all around the UK.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on a variety of different projects around the UK, ranging from small private developers to national house builders and planning schemes
  • Liaise and attend meetings with clients, council officers
  • Work closely with the wider engineering team and keeping goo communication throughout the departments
  • Manage the team and delegate tasks to technicians/ apprentices
  • Use AutoCAD, drainage and 3D design software to produce ground models and model drainage networks
  • Prepare and complete submission packs for planning, design and groundworks for construction
  • Being able to produce engineering designs is desirable.

The ideal candidate:

  • Degree level in this field is desirable, but not essential
  • Clear understanding of UK drainage/ flood risk, client and local authority standards
  • Competent in the use of Micro drainage, AutoCAD, or any other design software and Microsoft Office packages
  • Is able to prepare engineering drawings
  • Has strong communication skills, and is able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
