Clarkson Owens Recruitment Limited, on behalf of our Edinburgh-based client, seeks a Design Engineer specialising in Highways and Drainage. You will design highways and drainage schemes, provide technical input, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.

The role is full-time and permanent, hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 at home. A Civil Engineering degree and Chartered status or active progression towards chartership are preferred, with at least 3 years'

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or higher qualification.
• Chartered status or actively working towards chartership.
• Min 3 years' experience on highways and/or drainage design.
• Experience in civil engineering design environment, preferably consultancy.
• Proficient in Civil 3D for highways/earthworks and InfoDrainage for drainage.
• Experience contributing to tenders with risk identification and mitigation.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and teamwork.

Responsabilités

• Produce highways and drainage designs across projects.
• Provide technical expertise and specialist advice.
• Undertake design risk assessments and contribute to hazard workshops.
• Coordinate with other design disciplines for integrated solutions.
• Assist with civil engineering tendering, review tenders and develop design strategies.
• Identify risks and opportunities; develop mitigation measures.
• Assist procurement and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and coordinate tender deliverables and liaise with clients.
