Job summary

Carrington West has a contract role for a Civil Design Engineer specializing in reinforced concrete for Nuclear Projects. Based in Bristol with hybrid working (2 days WFH), the 12-month contract offers up to £65 p/h Inside IR35.

The role requires 5+ years in civil/structural engineering, strong ANSYS expertise, and knowledge of British standards. Security clearance is required for this nuclear-integrated project.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering with a relevant degree.
• Strong expertise in ANSYS software and reinforced concrete structures.
• Knowledge of British civil engineering standards.
• Experience in regulated industries (nuclear, energy, defence) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical review of design queries and detailed RC calculations.
• Perform technical reviews while contributing to the drawing process using ANSYS.
• Ensure accurate and compliant delivery of civil engineering design packages.
• Analyse and coordinate intricate RC structure designs to high standards.

Expectations and Skillsets

• Lead the technical review of design queries, detailed structural calculations for reinforced concrete elements and design changes.
• Perform technical reviews of designs while engaging in the drawing process itself using the Ansys software.
• Ensure accurate and compliant delivery of civil engineering design packages.
• Analyse and coordinate intricate RC structure designs to the highest standards.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering with a Degree or HND in Engineering, science or stem subjects.
• Strong expertise in Ansys software and reinforced concrete structures.
• Knowledge of British civil engineering standards.
• Experience in regulated industries (nuclear, energy, defence) is preferred.
