Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Civil Design Engineer - Reinforced Concrete for Bristol, offering a hybrid arrangement (2 days WFH). The contract is 12 months with a rate up to £65 per hour inside IR35.

You will lead technical reviews of reinforced concrete designs, perform detailed calculations, and contribute to drawings using Ansys, ensuring compliant delivery of civil design packages within nuclear projects. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil/structural engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in reinforced concrete design.
• Knowledge of British civil engineering standards.

Expectations and Skillsets

• Lead the technical review of design queries, detailed structural calculations for reinforced concrete elements and design changes.
• Perform technical reviews of designs while engaging in the drawing process itself using the Ansys software.
• Ensure accurate and compliant delivery of civil engineering design packages.
• Analyse and coordinate intricate RC structure designs to the highest standards.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering with a Degree or HND in Engineering, science or stem subjects.
• Strong expertise in Ansys software and reinforced concrete structures.
• Knowledge of British civil engineering standards.
• Experience in regulated industries (nuclear, energy, defence) is preferred.
