Elvet Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer on behalf of a civil engineering / water main contractor.

This reputable Water / Utilities contractor is growing and needs a Design Engineer or Senior to join their in-house design team. The work mainly involves the Yorkshire Water framework, with potential involvement in United Utilities projects. The contractor has a turnover of £500m+ and operates internationally, specializing in large/heavy civil engineering, water, tunnelling, and structures.

The successful Engineer will be responsible for in-house design and coordinating external design consultancies on Civil Engineering works, including Major Water Treatment works and storm tanks, with project values from £500k to over £20m.

This role is based in Leeds, with regular site visits, offering hybrid working and flexibility.

Duties as a Design Engineer:

1. Perform detailed design work on water projects: waste water and clean water.
2. Manage CAD output from technicians.
3. Represent the company in meetings and stakeholder interactions.
4. Conduct site visits to gather data and information.
5. Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure smooth project delivery.
6. Review documentation and drawings.

Experience Required:

Must have experience working as a Design Engineer in relevant civil engineering projects.
