Job summary

Vincera Consulting Ltd in Derby is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join a team of Chartered, mid-level and graduate engineers in the Civils Engineering Division. The role targets a mid-level engineer (2yrs+) aspiring to become a technically excellent design engineer, with a supportive environment to progress.

You will deliver high quality concept to detailed designs for highway and drainage, perform drainage calculations, prepare developer enquiries and applications, and contribute to reports

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years post qualification experience in Civil and Structural engineering.
• Full UK driving license and own transport.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality concept, preliminary and detailed technical design on projects requiring highway and drainage design.
• Carry out drainage calculations, including QBar, attenuation storage, soakaway sizing, foul loads, pipeline capacities and network analysis.
• Carry out adoptable and non-adoptable highway, driveway, car parking and footpath structural pavement designs for permeable and non-permeable surfaces.
• Prepare Developer Enquiries, Environment Agency product requests and LLFA information requests.
• Prepare S104, S106 and S185 application forms and packages for submission to Drainage Authority and Planning Authority.
• Prepare S184, S278 and S38 application forms and packages for submission to Highway Authority.
• Report writing, e.g. Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategy Reports.
• Complying with designers duties under the CDM Regulations
