Job summary

Senior Civil 3D Technician sought in London for a contract role with hybrid working (2-3 days in the office). You will deliver detailed Civil 3D drawings and 3D models for highways, drainage and earthworks on a range of projects.

You will work closely with engineers and other disciplines, ensuring CAD standards and BIM workflows are followed. The role requires strong communication and the ability to coordinate across teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive Civil 3D experience within a civil engineering consultancy.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience across highways, drainage, earthworks and infrastructure modelling.
• Strong knowledge of BIM workflows and digital engineering.
• Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDEs).
• Willingness to attend London office 2–3 days per week.

Senior Civil 3D Technician

Are you an experienced Civil 3D Technician looking for your next contract opportunity in London?

We are currently looking for a Senior Civil 3D Technician to join an established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

The role will suit a technically strong technician with extensive Civil 3D experience, particularly across highways, drainage, utilities and earthworks. You will work closely with engineers and other design disciplines to produce high-quality technical drawings and 3D models across projects at various stages of development.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week in the London office, offering a competitive hourly rate and an Outside IR35 arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Develop highways, access roads, drainage networks, utilities and earthworks models.
• Support civil engineering projects from concept and feasibility through to detailed design.
• Produce highway alignments, surface models, sections and associated technical drawings.
• Coordinate design information across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

About You

• Strong experience working as a Civil 3D Technician within a civil engineering consultancy.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Proven experience across highways, drainage, earthworks and infrastructure modelling.
• Good understanding of BIM workflows and digital engineering processes.
• Experience working with Common Data Environments (CDEs).
• Familiarity with Navisworks, Revit, InfoDrainage or MicroDrainage would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Comfortable working independently and managing technical deliverables.
• Able to attend the London office 2-3 days per week.
