Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a dedicated Playground Engineer to inspect, repair and maintain over 100 playgrounds, ball courts, and outdoor facilities across the City. The role emphasizes safety for children and will require identifying risks and performing timely repairs, supported by a mobile inspection system.

The ideal candidate will have outdoor work experience, a full UK driving licence, and relevant playground inspection qualifications or be prepared to undertake the training.

Qualifications

• Experience working outdoors and following health & safety legislation.
• Ability to use mobile/tablet site inspection systems.
• Capable of basic repairs (carpentry, painting, metal work) using power tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections and repairs across 100+ playgrounds and related facilities.
• Report risks and issues and restore equipment to full use.
• Work as part of a two-person engineer team to cover citywide sites.
