BlockReel in London seeks a proactive 1st Assistant Camera for a 1–2 day commercial shoot in November 2026. The role involves pulling focus, managing camera gear, and preparing and breaking down equipment with the Arri Alexa Mini LF package provided. An own basic AC kit is preferred; please share a reel or camera department work samples for review.

Hours are typically 10–12 hours per day. The project offers deferred compensation and a chance to build your reel with an independent production

Seeking an enthusiastic 1st Assistant Camera for a dynamic, entry-level commercial shoot in London, UK, offering deferred compensation. We're looking at a 1-2 day shoot schedule in November 2026, with an additional half-day for prep. This independent production focuses on a modern lifestyle product, aiming for a clean, vibrant, and optimistic visual tone. We're a small production company, and this project is an excellent opportunity to gain commercial experience and build your reel. Your key responsibilities will include pulling focus, managing camera equipment, setting up and breaking down gear, and ensuring all camera department needs are met efficiently. We provide the primary camera package (Arri Alexa Mini LF) and basic lens kit, but familiarity with this system is a plus. You should ideally have access to your own basic AC kit (e.g., tape measure, marks, cleaning supplies, tools). Please have a reel or examples of your previous camera department work available for review, even if it's student or personal projects. This role requires someone proactive, detail-oriented, and keen to learn on set. Hours will be typical 10-12 hour days.
