COOK Kitchen in Sittingbourne is hiring a Casual Kitchen Prep Assistant for the Christmas season. You will support a busy kitchen preparing centrepieces, turkeys and other poultry, with a focus on safety and quality.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, with a casual contract around 26 June 2026 to 4 December 2026. Benefits include free lunch, free parking, birthday and special occasion leave, staff discount, and a wellbeing programme.

Qualifications

Comfortable handling and processing raw meat products.
Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Confident using kitchen knives and food preparation equipment.
Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
Previous kitchen, catering, food production experience beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

Carefully cutting, weighing, and measuring ingredients following clear instructions.
Preparing meat, poultry, and seafood by cutting and processing ready for cooking.
Preparing Christmas centrepieces, turkeys, ducks, and geese.
Chopping using kitchen knives safely and confidently.
Maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen and workstations.
Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
Supporting the wider kitchen team with preparation tasks.
