Job summary

Scotsdales Garden Centre in Great Shelford is seeking a friendly General Assistant for our Christmas Department on a temporary basis until early January. You will help customers, restock shelves, and create festive displays, working weekends as required.

Christmas Department – General Assistant - Temporary

We are looking for a friendly and reliable General Assistant to join our Christmas Department in Great Shelford, on a temporary basis, until early January. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our busiest and most festive time of year, helping customers enjoy their Christmas shopping experience.

Main Duties:

• Provide excellent customer service, assisting shoppers with enquiries and purchases.
• Replenish stock to ensure shelves and displays are full, tidy, and well-presented.
• Support with pricing, merchandising, and creating eye-catching festive displays.
• Keep the department clean, organised, and safe for customers.
• Assist at the tills when required, ensuring transactions are handled accurately.
• Work as part of a team to ensure the Christmas Department runs smoothly during peak times.

Requirements of the Role:

• Enthusiastic and approachable, with a positive attitude.
• Able to deliver great customer service in a busy environment.
• Flexible and happy to assist with a variety of tasks.
• Reliable and punctual, with good teamwork skills.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful, but not essential as full training will be provided.

This is a temporary role, ending early January.

This role includes weekend working.

Rates of pay shown are for those aged 21+, competitive rates for those aged 18-20.
