Job summary

COOK Farnham is seeking a Christmas Casual Retail Team Member to welcome customers, assist with menu planning, and keep the shop clean and well-stocked. You’ll manage tills, assist with deliveries, and ensure daily paperwork is completed accurately.

No previous experience is required; training is provided. The role is casual/fixed-term with great staff discounts and team-oriented support in a closely-knit community shop.

Qualifications

• Experience not required but prior retail or customer-facing work is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn and contribute in a team-based retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Offer remarkable service; the customer is the priority.
• Help customers plan meals or catering for occasions; promote offers and products.
• Keep the shop immaculate, stock rotated, and freezers full.
• Operate the till efficiently and accurately.
• Understand shop paperwork and necessary checks.
• Open and close the shop; perform end-of-day reconciliations.
• Check deliveries, place orders, and assist with stock taking.

Pay rate : £13.45 Per Hour

There’s more to COOK than food: our shops play active roles in the communities they serve and that’s thanks to the warmth, knowledge and care of our Retail Team. We’re looking for remarkable people to join us who can host customers in the shop just like they would at home.

The Role

• Offer remarkable service, the customer is always more important than anything else you are doing.
• Use your knowledge to help customers plan menus or advise on catering for occasions. Talk to customers about upcoming offers, products and promotions.
• We are a food business – make sure the shop always looks immaculate, clean and spotless, stock is replenished and rotated, and the freezers are full.
• Be a whizz on the till. Operate it efficiently and accurately.
• Understand the shop paperwork, necessary legal checks and their purpose.
• Open up the shop. Close the shop,End-of-day reconciliation
• Check in deliveries and placing orders, assist with stock taking as required.
• Look smart with apron, and name badge on at all times.

Good to Have

If you are a foodie then great, but we will train you to know our products, including how and where they are made, and to understand what dishes suit which occasions.

Experience not necessary but previous experience of working in Retail or in a customer facing role would be the icing on the cake.
