Job summary

Cook Trading Limited in Ashtead is recruiting a Christmas Casual Retail Team Member to join our store. This casual/fixed-term role offers a warm, customer-focused environment and pay of £13.45 per hour.

You will help customers plan menus, keep the shop immaculate, operate the till, handle paperwork, and assist with deliveries and stock checks. Training will be provided.

• Food knowledge training provided.
• Experience not necessary but retail or customer-facing roles helpful.

• Keep the shop immaculate, stock replenished and rotated, and the freezers are full.
• Be a whizz on the till. Operate it efficiently and accurately.
• Understand shop paperwork and the necessary legal checks.
• Open up the shop. Close the shop, End-of-day reconciliation.
• Check in deliveries and placing orders, assist with stock taking as required.
• Look smart with apron, and name badge on at all times.

The Role

• Offer remarkable service, the customer is always more important than anything else you are doing.
• Use your knowledge to help customers plan menus or advise on catering for occasions. Talk to customers about upcoming offers, products and promotions.
• We are a food business – make sure the shop always looks immaculate, clean and spotless, stock is replenished and rotated, and the freezers are full.

• Understand the shop paperwork, necessary legal checks and their purpose.
• Open up the shop. Close the shop,End-of-day reconciliation
• Check in deliveries and placing orders, assist with stock taking as required.

Good to Have

If you are a foodie then great, but we will train you to know our products, including how and where they are made, and to understand what dishes suit which occasions.

Experience not necessary but previous experience of working in Retail or in a customer facing role would be the icing on the cake.
