Job summary

WR Engineering is seeking a CHP Service Engineer / Commissioning Engineer to service, maintain and upgrade CHP and gas-engine systems across the UK. The role involves travel to customer sites, diagnosing faults, performing overhauls and commissioning new equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong CHP/gas engine experience, be comfortable with electrical and control-system diagnostics, and work on a rota with related allowances. Salary £40,000-£50,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with CHP and gas engines in power-generation or industrial equipment.
• Strong understanding of PLCs and control systems.
• Experience with commissioning, servicing and engine overhauls.
• Willingness to travel UK.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance and servicing of CHP/gas engines.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and control-system faults.
• PLC and control-system fault finding.

Location: North-East England (Ideally Teesside, Humberside or Newcastle)

Salary: £40,000-£50,000

Are you a Service Engineer with experience in CHP, gas engines and controls looking for a new opportunity with a specialist power-generation business?

Our client is a well-established engineering company specialising in the service, maintenance, repair and overhaul of CHP and gas-engine systems across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join their field-based team.

The Role

• Planned preventative maintenance and servicing of CHP/gas engines
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and control-system faults
• PLC and control-system fault finding
• Commissioning and testing equipment
• Engine overhauls and component replacement
• Responding to breakdowns and providing technical support
• Working with customers to identify and resolve technical issues
• Completing service reports and maintenance documentation
• Travelling to customer sites across the UK

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a background in CHP, gas engines, power generation or industrial equipment, ideally with strong controls experience.

• Gas engines - Jenbacher, MWM, MAN, Guascor, CAT, MTU, Perkins, 2G or similar
