CHP Gas Power Generation Engineer - Scotland (Field-Based)

Location: Ideally based in Scotland (UK travel required).

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and commission CHP gas power generation systems at client sites across the UK.
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance, mechanical overhauls, and modify control systems for enhanced performance.
  • Diagnose faults, undertake troubleshooting, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Perform performance testing, analysis, and maintain accurate operational and maintenance records.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support generator installation phases.
  • Coordinate service scheduling and manage maintenance spares cost‑effectively.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and liaise with contractors.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven hands‑on experience with CHP gas generation systems (e.g., Siemens, MWM, MAN, PSI/Ford).
  • Strong mechanical overhaul and control systems modification expertise.
  • Confidence working independently with excellent communication, organisational skills, and fault‑finding ability.
  • Clean UK driving licence (essential).
  • Experience commissioning controls (flows, pressures) and diagnosing control system faults.
  • Ideal candidate will be based in Scotland or willing to travel across the region and the wider UK.
